Anyone have the results of Brampton? what is the format ( tie break ) rules for provincials?

In the past when there is an even # of teams then each division leader plays each other..........When there are an odd # of teams the 2 best records play for the final( like in Niagara ) we went 3-0 and had to play the B when really we should have played TO for the fianl as we had not played them yet..............just my thoughts.........as this is how every other tourney has been run!

Junior was

A - Toronto over Whitby
B - Brooklin & Welland (not sure who won)
C - Brampton over Six Nations
D - Orangeville & Aurora
E - Mimico

Each tourney is different (it is up to the organizing team). Some are best record overall advances, other times it is based on best record in your pool.

There was a list posted at the registration desk on Friday night that showed the breakdown being 1st Pool A vs 1st Pool B in the A final, 2nd Pool A vs 2nd Pool B, etc...

In terms of provincials, The format is as follows:

Pool A - London, Brooklin, Orangeville, Toronto, Aurora

Pool B - Welland, Whitby, Brampton, Six Nations, Mimico

Top team in each pool after the round robin gets a bye, 2 plays 3 in a cross over (winners advancing to semi-finals against round robin leaders)

is this a new playoff format. in previous years the top 2 from each pool advanced but were then seeded according to their rating. you could play the same team from your pool in the semis thst you already played. cross over make much more sense

Last year in provincials i believe we (brooklin) beat whitby in round robin and also had to beat them in semi's.

Actaully the format can change from year to year depending on the number of teams participating in the provincials. They do revert back to the rankings for the semi's to determine which teams play.

Whitby was eliminated in the prelims (they were in the same pool as you guys & Brampton who were the teams that advanced out of that pool). You guys beat London in the semi's:

Also, last year there were 13 teams (Barrie, Georgian Bay & Huntsville are teams who are not here this year) which is a different format than 10 teams.
