Docs in the Dock
Clare Gerada, David Healy, Gisela Stuart. Ritula Shah hosts.
Despite the recent bad press most of us still think doctor knows best. Yet with medical intervention now the third biggest killer after heart disease and cancer, is it time to call a halt to our trust? Should we end the monopoly on prescription? Would this give us ownership over our own health or risk lives and return us to Victorian quackery? "
Hay-on-Wye is the internationally famous 'town of books', situated in a magical location on the edge of the Black Mountains. It's also the home of HowTheLightGetsIn, the world's first philosophy and music festival, now in its third year.
HowTheLightGetsIn takes place on a festival site that includes six venues all offering exciting events throughout the ten-day period.
If you've been to Hay, you'll know why this small town draws US Presidents and Nobel prize-winners, critics and intellectuals alike into its orbit. If you haven't, it's time to see what all the fuss is about.
