As Vie and her date were talking, Ethan looked around the ballroom. He had a feeling that someone was watching him. As he looked through the crowd Ethan swore that he saw a man standing not too far away. He stood in between a few couples that were dancing. The man appeared to be in his mid to late 30s, he wore a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt. He felt a sense of uneasiness upon seeing the man, probably because nobody else in the ballroom appeared to see him. He was pretty sure of it because the man probably would have been escorted out, or at least been spoken to for being the only person there that wasn't formally dressed for the ball. All the man did was look at Ethan with a cold stare. He had a mind to approach the man and ask him what the hell he was looking at when he heard a familiar voice talking to him. It was his friend Violetta who had noticed that he had arrived and she came over to say hi, although she left her date trailing behind a little.
Ethan wondered about the timing of her statement about Crazy People attending the ball. A few seconds ago he could have sworn that he saw someone staring at him, but he was gone about a second after Vie started talking to him. Nobody was there, they never were. Ethan had taken a drink of punch a few moments earlier and wondered if anyone spiked it. He wasn't aware of the irony of his thoughts. “Nice to see some other sane people here too. As you can see I couldn't turn down a pretty face, although that face is now nowhere to be seen.”
If his date were around Ethan would have introduced her to Vie but He saw that she went to the bathroom with a couple of her friends, figuring that she would return to him when she was ready. If she was gone too long however, he was going to go look. Ethan didn't want her to get sh...... he just wanted to make sure that she was ok. He decided to focus on Vie, pushing what he thought he just saw out of his mind, probably, no definitely against his better judgement. “I'm sure she'll make herself known again soon. You look great by the way, your date is a lucky man.”
Ethan said, wondering whether or not her date was going to come over and introduce himself. He didn't recognize her date from school, but he realized he probably would not have since he looked a couple of years older than they did. Ethan assumed that it was someone she probably knew from her personal life, or someone that she just recently met. Either way he wanted to focus on them and not on what had just happened to him.
Right as he wondered whether or not her date was coming over, he'd come over and introduced himself as Alexander. He'd grabbed a couple of drinks before coming over to meet them. "I'm Ethan, and it's fine."
He said, offering his hand to shake Alexander's. Ethan really didn't want to have a drink, he probably wouldn't get away with getting one since he still looked seventeen, that and he was already seeing things. Having a drink probably would have only made things worse.
