I was rereading Len Goodgal's mini-autobiography to to answer Boys question about Keith K Bryan and I noticed something. Mr. Goodgal mentions going on a
patrol with Joe Steele and Richtie/Dicky Shinn (Mr. Goodgal is the only person I have seen refer to him as Dicky and not Ritchie) and a Lt. Johnson (unnamed
replacement officer). He mentioned Ritchie was Korean and sure enough when I checked his enlistment record his enthnicity was listed as "unknown race,
citizen." I was wondering if anyone had any info or photos of him to prove this.

On a related topic does anyone know of any other paratroopers of non British/Canadian/or Mexican birth? All three of these birth countries are represented in
I/506 as well.

Thanks,

Matt

Richard Shinn was Korean.  After the war he returned to San Francisco and resumed his career in the ring.  While boxing in Hawaii he met Violet whom became his wife.  They settled in S.F. He retired from the ring and jointed the Post Office and had nine children.
