Thanks to Ron Nomura (1st Cav RVN), who sent this-he grew-up in far west Detroit, in the 50s-60s. The last line is PRICELESS .
  Being Green
Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.
The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this 'green thing' back in my earlier days."
The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."
She was right -- our generation didn't have the 'green thing' in its day.
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over.
 So they really were recycled.
But we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.
Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings.
Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.
But too bad we didn't do the "green thing" back then.
We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
But she was right. We didn't have the "green thing" in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.
But that young lady is right; we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana . In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
But she's right; we didn't have the "green thing" back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.
But we didn't have the "green thing" back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family's $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did before the "green thing." We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.
But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the "green thing" back then?
Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smartass young person...
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to piss us off... especially from a tattooed, multiple pierced smartass who can't make change without the cash register telling them how much.

Before you read through the piece below by Saul Alinsky, you might check this entry from Wikipedia about him:  Saul Alinsky
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saul David Alinsky (January 30, 1909 – June 12, 1972) was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of modern community organizing. He is often noted for his book Rules for Radicals. In the course of nearly four decades of political organizing, Alinsky received much criticism, but also gained praise from many public figures. His organizing skills were focused on improving the living conditions of poor communities across North America. In the 1950s, he began turning his attention to improving conditions in the African-American ghettos, beginning with Chicago's and later traveling to other ghettos in California, Michigan, New York City, and a dozen other "trouble spots". His ideas were adapted in the 1960s by some U.S. college students and other young counterculture-era organizers, who used them as part of their strategies for organizing on campus and beyond. Time magazine once wrote that "American democracy is being altered by Alinsky's ideas," and conservative author William F. Buckley said he was "very close to being an organizational genius."

Subject: FW: All in a days work
How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky
There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state.

The first is the most important.
1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people
2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)
6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools
Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Now, think...
Does any of this sound like what is happening to the United States?

There is another one of Alinsky's that is not listed.
"Overwhelm the System" i.e. Scams, scandals, welfare ,entitlements, Key personel in key positions.
In a picture of Pre- Senator Obama teaching a class at a Chicago university, over his sholder while writing at a blackboard
"Rules for Radicals can be seen on the blackbord in text for the teaching of the class.
He not only was a Student of Rules for Radicals but taught it.
I see also that they did change the IRS targeting of GOP groups as now rules legal , now they are actively going after "Friends Of Abe" Group.
For those not aware, there is now a battle going on in Texas, one everyone should watch closely.
A very republican state not yet ruined by unions , handouts and Democrats.
One that has surplus budgets, no state income taxes but is being flooded by democrats in polical races in an effort to turn the state Democrat.
It will be a fight because of populace key cities like Houston and Austin where the liberials flourish because of welfare and Federal handouts.
If the state goes Liberial , we have no hope to ever rid ourselves of these parasites.
They will control the electorial vote and you will always have Obama as Lord God Almighty.

Very good Mark!     I am hoping someone soon will beat down the idiots. Today I hear on the news where Eric holder is making regulations where Banks now can take money and lend money form the sale of Weed.   Money laundering we called it yesterday.   I understand that Holder is the head of the DOJ ? Is'nt that law ENFORCEMENT not law MAKING ?   I missed something in my education on how government works.   Today while working I though about this,Obama care is to insure the uninsured we make
the insured uninsured and
pay more money to be
insured so we can
insure the uninsured ......Free.

Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known !! See below

In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.  The Statement of Purpose from the Bill reads:  "To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."  The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms.  The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry, now get this, on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N.

A Time to Reflect...........

The ego of man prompts some to suppose that he is himself the supreme being or,
if not, to suppose that he stands next in line to the one who is. The former
argues that something that never existed blew up producing both matter and
antimatter. The explosion causes the universe to expand and that someday, it
will collapse upon itself with the matter and antimatter annihilating each
other thus returning to the nothingness that preceded the big bang. (Never mind
that they can’t pinpoint the center of the explosion or explain why different
parts of the universe are traveling at different speeds and are accelerating -
all of which contradicts the laws of physics). The later argues that there is a
supreme being higher than man but that they alone know the mind of God and are
here to act in His behalf. The message of first group is one of no hope. The
message of the second group is one of a false hope based on an ego driven
arrogance that tends to contradict the supremacy of the God they purport to

There is another group of men who
are just as smart but who see their own existence and that of the universe in
which they have their being as part of a grand design that doesn’t need an
explanation. If there is no God, then atheists have nothing to fear from Him.
If there is a God and if He made all things, then He is the God of all men not
just a select few. It takes just as much faith to believe in a universe that
created itself when the only evidence of such  an event comes solely from the mind of man as
it does to believe in God who created all things and who has revealed Himself
to us in all that He has created. Faith is what is left when there can be no

So, why is now a time to reflect? It
is a great understatement to say that there is uncertainty in the world. In
terms of world history, it would be difficult to say whether that uncertainty
is any greater now than at any other time in the past but it is certainly
arguable that man has shown little if any progress in reducing it. With the
world’s population increasing, there are more oars in the water than ever
before and the resulting turbulence is putting mankind’s ship out of control.
If ever there was a time when we ought to consider how important is our faith
in God now that we are besieged on every side by His adversaries, now is the
time. It is Sunday here in the Philippines and my wife put a CD of favorite
hymns on the stereo. Listening got me to thinking.
