WOW ...900 bucks to ship this ???????????????? Guess no company in that part of France or the UK could have made the item ???? Guess you looked into it????

Where is the plaque coming from in the US ? What would an airline in the US charge one to bring it over ? would be like a large oversize bag I guess ?

Hi Lee,

I would be very happy to bring the plaque over from the states with me. Sent you a PM.

Cheers!
Definition of a Veteran:

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to
and including my life."

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Just got in from Prague so just picking this all up.
We went stright to a US Company as we wanted it to be made in America, a little bit of America to honor the Army Nurses and the Hospitals I guess.  When we got hit with the shipping costs we looked at having it made here in the UK, In Leicestershire no less, however they wanted double the money it would cost from the States even after shipping, that would put it way over budget as we have other Memorial unvailing related gear to purchase yet!
I will get back to you guys who may be able to help out, but it will come in at around 70 pounds in weight as its being made out of Bronze and that may be a problem with those needing luggage for your Normandy Stay.  It is possible having spoken to a US Serviceman buddy over here that the Max Weight for APO may have been given to us wrong and we can indeed get it sent APO to England, which I am also told wont cost us.
I will get back to you all, so thanks guys
Kind Regards
Lee

Well it now looks like Mark can bring the memorial plaque over with him in June, just now getting some costs for shipping to his Command Post.

TC thanks for your interest and offer of help mate, we hope you will still be around to cover the day with your camera and of course see you at Marks events and Irish Dave’s.

While in Normandy we did a few confirmatory measurements and have changed the Dimensions of the memorial a little so it fits better on the original main entrance gate post.

The Marie and Jacque the Farm owner has checked the wording and one small amendment was made.

The final (well we hope) 22 x 32 design is below.

In regards to the above, we are still researching the role of the Pharmacist Corp in regards to being part of the Evacuation Hospital TO&E, we believe there was no Pharmacists BOS within the set up and will delete the insignia at the base of the plaque if this is so, however we do not want to miss them out if they were represented, any help in confirming this would be appreciated.

Regards
