Yeah.Hey I just remembered this site out of the blue and I've been reading through a ton of threads just randomly hoping to learn a little more about City Folk.
Anyways I just thought I'd vent a little about this game.
I'm a huge AC fan, but overall City Folk is a definite disappointment to me.
One thing I noticed right off the bat when I started playing, is that Nintendo didn't even put the effort into making new overworld music for this game. WW had different music than GC, but CF has the exact same music as WW. I know for a fact it wouldn't have been hard to write 24 new short loops of music for the game. Luckily the music doesn't affect the gameplay, so its not that big of a deal, but it still bugs me.
The neighbors aren't nearly as fun to talk to in this game. In the original, whenever I got bored, I would talk to the neighbors and they would almost always send me on little "quests" to run errands for them. In City Folk, they hardly ever do that, and as a result, I find myself hardly ever talking to them because I don't see a point.
Something I was hoping for in this game, was for Nintendo to bring back some of the things I loved about the original game. The acres, the gyroid outside of your house, and (although I really didn't expect this one) the return of NES games. I'm really glad they at least brought back multiple-level towns, but, like the music, that doesn't really effect gameplay so much. Also, I wish they would have made the grass like it was in the first game; all over the town. I hate the dirt patches, and I especially hate how easy it is to ruin your grass, and how difficult it is to get it to grow back.
I was all excited about the city aspect of this game, but all I've found is that it actually kind of made the game worse (in my opinion). I loved having to look forward to the random Crazy Redd and Katrina appearances in my town. Allowing us to see them every day in the city kind of takes away from the 'specialness' of them. Overall, I don't like the city. There isn't nearly enough to do there.
Anyways, my last complaint, is also my biggest. Just today, I got the basement in my house, and when Nook told me "your house can't get any bigger!" it caught me off guard. Really? Not ANY bigger? Why the huge downgrade from Wild World? This doesn't make any sense to me at all. Why allow us to have a mansion in Wild World, and then go back to the two-room house that we got in the original game? If anything I would have thought we'd be able to get an even bigger house than in Wild World.
I'm hoping for a BIG change in the next Animal Crossing. City Folk is more or less still the same game as the original, which isn't a bad thing at all, but still, I want something new next time. A cool significant change would be to make the entire game set in the city instead of in a small town. That would be cool, and it would definitely be a nice change. Just throwing random ideas out there.
Well, that's about it. Just felt like complaining. I know that probably none of you even know who I am, and I don't think I know any of you, but I just had the urge to say all that. Haha okay I'm done. Thanks for putting up with this ridiculously long post.

I got bored earlier today and decided to check out our affiliate "The Bell Tree" to try to look up some things about Animal Crossing City Folk, and while browsing the forums I felt the urge to post this stupidly long rant about the game, and here it is:
