I'd certainly heard of the Cahokia Mounds, but not much more than just that; never was part of any of my American History classes in school.
This is fascinating reading about what is known about them now.

The Americas are full of ancient sites, Josh Reeves does some excellent Youtube vids about them. His focus is on the possible existence of giants. An especially good one is on the Rock Wall structure in Texas. Worth a look.
