I've been working on a 3d model of the bridge of the original series Enterprise.
I have most of the basic shapes laid out - To the point where I'm far enough along to start thinking about some of the details.
But one of the problems I've run into is that I can't find any info on the dimensions of the "Alert" indicator used on the bridge (and many other sets!).
Using this image and a bit of math, and based on Feek's reference image showing that the wall communicator has a width of 9 3/4 inches, I've come up with a height of 11.89 inches. If I round up to 12 inches, based on the proportions I assume that the width is 7 inches, and that there is a 1/2 inch bezel on the border surrounding the lighted surface.
I've tried to cross-check this against by using the McMaster blueprints, but that just gives me wildly different results.
Does anyone have any info?
I reached out to Gerald Gurian over at the Star Trek Prop, Costume, and Auction Authority website.
He said he didn't have exact dimensions, but he said that his best guess was that the red Plexiglass panel would measure approximately 12 inches by 6 inches, surrounded by a 7/8" border/bezel.
