Do any of you follow Jpop at all?

Aside from anime music, which I'm sure all of us listen to, do you guys listen to jpop or jrock? I'm pretty addicted to kpop myself but jpop/jrock is pretty good too, haha. I'm in a dance group called HybridK and we were going to learn a jpop song after we learned big bang's bang bang bang, I believe - don't know what happened to that unfortunately, haha

I follow a few singers, though they're ones just about any anime fan would also know (Yuki Kajiura/Kalafina, Utada Hikaru being my two big ones). Before j-pop/rock was quite as big as it is now I used to follow it a bit more, but since then it's gotten kind of hard to keep track of all the new bands and singers coming out haha. My sister on the other hand is getting into the k-pop scene something fierce.

I listen to mostly jpop and other music in the Japanese music industry but I don't know how to categorize it. (vocaloids anyone?)

I use to follow Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikari a lot back in the day. Then i went to kpop and then to AKB48. Now i just sneak a peek or peek my head into their activities once in a while to see any new songs they might've come out with.

I have a few albums outside the anime themes. Recently I got AAA's 10th anniversary album. I'm still working my way through the album

I have been listening to Jpop/Jrock since I watch anime. Before, my library was limited to songs used as OP/ED themes. From those, I had artists that I like amd began searching their other songs. My favorite from before would be Wada Kouji, known for singing a lot of the Digimon themes.

During college, my friends were into Kpop and that made me start listening to Kpop too, though I only listen to my favorite artists like Super Junior, SHINee and Lee Seunggi.

I used to fangirl pretty hard for Johnny's Entertainment boybands when I was in high school...only slightly ashamed of those years. Nowadays I sometimes look them up due to nostalgia (though everything will not be the same, given the number of members that left in the past few years). Except for Arashi. Arashi's as good as always.

Other than anime, I gotten into lots of vocaloid JPop and JRock. They just tell any interesting story, great up beats, and great voices. Not just Hatsune MIku, even other vocaloids like Luka, Rin and Len, Kaito (favorite male), Meiko, V Flower, etc.

Like some people I started to follow Jpop/Jrock after watching anime. So I started with OPs/EDs. The first time I started to follow an artist was after listening to this One Piece ed - Asu wa Kuru Kara by Tohoshinki ^^ followed them ever since. They also led me to Kpop since they are Korean. Most bands I listen to now still started off as me really liking one of their anime songs.

There's also Arashi, my cousin is a HUGE fan so I keep updated through her. I like me some X-Japan and Perfume from time to time too.

I'm attending their concert in January! 👍

I'm more into Kpop, but there is always a room for some Jpop :)
I was a huge fangirl of Ayumi Hamasaki but kinda faded now. I still read news and listen her new releases though.
Also like the style of Hikaru Utada, Kana Nishino and Shouko Nakagawa.

I need to mention One Ok Rock, they are basic for me ♥

I follow all the japanese music I can. Thanks to anime, I know of many and many japanese artists and bands to check up on/listen to. I try to check for new albums/artists from my favored artists whenever I can remember.

I used to listen to jrock all the time, but then the interest faded and now I'm more into kpop.
I saw Mucc and Girugamesh live in 2009 and that was awesome. Girugamesh had terrible trouble with their tech, so most of their performance time was filled with bad jokes and teaching us Japanese swear words. Ouch.

I follow a few groups, mostly due to anime intros/endings that I've heard and really liked. My favorite is a duo called On/Off, who did the opening songs for Vampire Knight and an ending song for Durarara!! Among others. I actually became a fan well before they did anything in anime, though.

Oh, lucky you. I also started to like them after watching the live-action movie of Rurouni Kenshin. That was the first time I thought that English and Japanese could go well in a song.

I saw videos of OOR concerts on Youtube. I must say Taka really has a nice voice. His voice in studio recordings and live concerts sound the same.

You'll love it! :)
I was at their concert just recently here in London!
I must admit, they sound more fierce and awesome live!! It was such a fantastic show..! :)

I think they got the biggest fame after the Rurouni Kenshin live-actions. They deserve it ♥

Like others, I didn't start listening to Jpop until I started watching animes and still my library is sort of limited to OP/ED but recently I tried to branch out listen to other jpop bands. I did come across this band called Gesu no Kiwami Otome and they are amazing. They classify themselves as progressive hip-hip but personally I think their sound is like a groovy pop sound. They are really good musicians. they are all especially good at there instruments and they have a female drummer and she is really badass.

Besides anime music, I religiously follow Sakamoto Maaya, LiSA, and Matsushita Yuya. I also really like Ayaka, Utada Hikaru, and Goose House!
