Just finished watching 4 innings of mayhem called Tigers baseball. Awful. Hit the road early.

Tigers claim OF Dustin Peterson off waivers.  He was the Braves #15 prospect. John Hicks assigned to the 60 day DL.  I wonder if we will see him this September.

Time to bring in some new blood into the booth.  Rod and Mario embarrassed the Tigers and themselves.  Need some young exciting guys to grow with the young Tigers.

Niko Goodrum is basically a switch hitting Ryan Raburn. You can’t hide him.

He's now the Tigers 11th ranked prospect.

It really is a shame Jacoby can't hit because he's a great CF...we could probably tolerate his anemic bat if more people in the lineup pulled their weight....

He has a 2.3 WAR in 116 games according to Baseball Reference.  Over 162 games that is 3.2 which is pretty solid. With Stewart and Castellanos flanking his sides and a young pitching staff coming up, I think we need to carry someone with his defensive skills.

If he hit .240 he would probably end up with 20 HR's.  With his defense he would be pretty valuable were that the case.  Not sure that he will ever grow into his ability.

Control of strike zone is his downfall. It hampered him in the minors as well. In 557 major league AB’s he’s K’d 205 times and walked 28, .253 OBP that’s awful. Gets himself out a lot.

I sought feedback on the JJ situation from forum fav Keith Law...He was less than enthusiatic...

Bill: JaCoby Jones is a lousy hitter but an excellent fielder. If you are the Tigers, can you look the other way on his bat given the number of runs he’s reportedly saves with his glove?

Keith Law: I think he’s just a bench piece, and not even a great one at that.
