I love James Tate, so when I saw this audio poem by Josh Lefkowitz I just had to read it. It was well worth the time. http://www.conduit.org/audio/

I was startled by the ending — thought perhaps the recording ended prematurely. Hmmm... Enjoyed. Now I should go read some James Tate. . . .

Thanks for posting this. I like Tate also, though I have my questions: what does it mean to fill entire books with these surreal things that look like prose poems? (I started reading one book with my wife and after 20 pages, she said something like, 'This was fun for a while, but is he just going to do this for the rest of the book?' I'm more sympathetic; I think the repetition is part of the point of his project.

Anyway, I loved this audio thing. Pretty much nails it, doesn't it?
