I have one of my favorite of all the prose pieces, or flash fiction if you prefer, I've written up at CafeLit today. To call this one "flash" doesn't seem right. I don't know what I set out to do when I wrote it and this is what resulted. I hope you like it. It's only 700 words.

Thanks for posting. This is fun. I love the line, "Pears remained inscrutable." Also "Come inside so we can talk openly." Also nice: "It's like a light fur, Jimmy thought, put there to gather sunlight."
I love the structure of the piece, the inside vs. outside, the switch that takes place! Perfect ending, too.
I'm back from a long vacation and a week of catching up on work and life. I haven't thought much about poetry for 3 weeks.
