Howdy folks! There is a new fan club for JD on Facebook. Just created a few weeks ago. Here's the link:

Hi, Kris,
I've just joined Facebook, as some V friends who were on Myspace have changed to there. My nephew here in Ireland and a cousin in Connecticut are on there, too. Maybe we can be friends there.

I've just been on Facebook again and found half my family on there. As well as my nephew here in Waterford, there are my niece Fiona in Dublin and her husband,Alan, my nephew Donal in Dublin and his girlfriend Isobel, my nephew Kevin in Dallas, my nephew Tony in Austin, and my nephew Kieran's wife, Laura in Houston, as well as associated family members! Most of my friends on Myspace would be of my "Virginian" family!

Nic, that's great! I'm relatively new to Facebook, but then I'm new to this whole computer thing. My sister, Kat Carson, runs the JD fan club on FB. She's a computer genius. I'm slowly learning the ropes and it's fun. I hope to see you and other "Virginian" friends on there!

Facebook has certainly changed everyone's lives and is great but sadly once flourishing forums like this place are becoming like Ghost Towns with tumbleweeds rolling through them :(

Trampas, that's mostly down to the fact the show is not on here anymore and Irish fans seem to have lost interest. Which a great pity since Ireland pioneered the showing of The Virginian again in 2007, being the first country for years to show the entire series including "The Men From Shiloh".

Season One was released in England,I think, in 2011, and I know of one person who bought it there, but I haven't heard anything since of the release or promotion by Timeless Media of any other seasons this side of the Atlantic, all of which have been released now in America. I think if they were available here there might be renewed interest, I don't know if any video rental places have them. Of course a lot of fans are getting the signed DVD's from Karen, or as I have in Memphis, I plan to get the 7 and 8 in Swanton.

But since the petition to get the series released on DVD was started here on this forum by Irish fans, it is a pity the fans here and in Europe can't get the DVD's in their local shop or rental place.
