Not sure I have put this under the correct thread heading (Sorry if Not !)
1) Asking any Australian DVD player owners on here (or anyone else who may know !)
Does anyone know if 'Region 4' DVD's will play on a European 'Region 2' DVD player...?
I'm probably going to get a multi region DVD player soon, but I just wondered
I have a Timeless Media 'Laramie' season 2 box set I was given (it comes from the USA) that DOES play on my 'Region 2' player (much to my surprise !) - so I'm rather confused by all this regional codes thing now...
2) while asking - Do those Timeless Media box sets of 'The Virginian' & 'Men From Shiloh' - plus 'Laredo' & 'Wagon Train' - which Amazon UK state are 'Region one' but Amazon.de in Germany state as; 'All Regions' (!) - play on 'Region 2' DVD players does anyone know...?
I think those USA Box sets are pretty expensive tho' - NOT the price itself or even shipping fees charged by the Americans.... but due to the stupid 'Import Duty' applied by the UK Post Office & Government who typically greedily charge EIGHT pounds PLUS VAT per item ordered that costs fifteen pounds or more .... at the UK end !!
Ranger, ALL Of Timeless Media DVD's are region free, I have Overland Trail, Checkmate and The Virginian and they advertise their DVD's as all region on their website, it makes sense if they want to sell to customers world wide.
I don't know about Australian DVD's but a friend did send me "Because They're Young" from Australia and it played fine but that was because blank DVD's are region free.
