3 years after I was part of a campaign to have Doug inducted posthumously into the Cowboy Hall of Fame/Hall of Great Western Performers, it is finally going to happen on April 12th, the very day I was planning to fly home from Houston after spending two weeks there with my sister following Jim's 80th birthday celebrations in Swanton, Ohio. I even had my flights booked but canceled the one home until a day later and booked a new flight from Houston to Oklahoma City in order to be at Doug's induction. I fly up on the 10th for 3 nights and home on the 13th.

A Posse Pard, Jan Glass, is helping me by booking my rooms and the event from me as my good friend Hoosh has done in Memphis and Swanton. Very suitably,Katherine Ross, Doug's leading lady in The Virginian episode "Dark Challenge" and the TV movie "The Longest Hundred Miles" is also being inducted. So, a VERY exciting trip with two milestone Virginian events coming up in two months and I'm very glad to representing the Irish fans at both.

Nic.

Thanks, Betty and Regine, I'll be taking lots of photos and video of both events and up loading them to Youtube, I have a lot of Virginian, Doug McClure and Memphis Film Festival clips up there already, most recently of the late Jeff Connors, son of Chuck, singing, it's had over 200 views already and more comments than I've had on any other of my videos.
I'm looking forward to Jim's party but even more so to meeting Doug's family in Oklahoma City, Tane sent me a message on Facebook saying "Looking forward to meeting you, thanks for all the kindness, love and support".

That's great Nic. You certainly have been one of the strongest forces keeping Doug's candle burning brightly in our minds.

Hi Jed
I won't lie. I'm as jealous as hell... but at the same time I hope you have a fantastic time on your trip. Am also so glad that Doug finally gets his place in the Great Western Hall. He deserves it. Am also glad Katie R gets her place there. She married another great western actor of whom I have been a fan of for many years. Sam Elliott (Tel Sackett) Great stuff.
Have a save trip back to Waterford. That wonderfull town on the Barrow.
FYI. My parents lived most of their lives in a small town called Lismore in County Waterford.

The world sure is small...
