Heads up Aussies - Alias Smith and Jones starts on 7Mate on Wednesday August 31 at 06:30. (And we all know to check the EPG and give time before and after if we are recording.)

I used to LOVE this show but have only ever seen it on its initial run back in the 70s. Like many of my 70s faves this could turn out to be trash and a series best confined to good memories, but regardless, I will be there! (Or at least my recorder will be ... )

Also looking forward to catching another JD role.

Hi Cleo

I was a fan of AS&J in the 70s like you and I bought the dvds when they came out, and it is still every bit as good as it was if not better.

I still love to watch the episodes with Pete Duel and Ben Murphy the chemistry between them is fantastic but I felt it lost it's magic when Pete died and was replaced with Roger Davis. I feel there is no chemistry between Ben and Roger and the magic was lost and also that his acting is a bit wooden, or it could be just that I am a big big fan of Pete Duel.

Any way in my opinion it is still worth watching , enjoy it Cleo.

Well I'm pleased to say that the 1st episode didn't disappoint. And it brought back so many memories (like of some of the pictures of the guys I used to have stuck on my wall!). I am impressed by the film quality - compared to say, MfS, - and it hasn't particularly dated like so many 70s shows. I was a bit agog at JD's role - so not The V - and just a tad strange. Interesting to note that it appears MfS was still in production when AS+J started ... he must have filmed it during one of his non eps in MfS. ;)

Pete Deuel and Ben Murphy have still got that great chemistry, and I agree Tricia, from what I remember Roger Davis just never really had "it".
Also fun to pick out all the actors previously seen on The V.
Most of them!!
