And there we have a possible provenance for the Fridge Monster! (Hopefully the sentient creature would at least clean all the organic material off the dishes before escaping.)

If you saw what grows in my empty wine bottles if I forget to rinse them, you'd never drink wine again.

,above eye level. We found it a couple years later. Fuzz, dust, wood and metal shavings. I think we dodged a bullet because the welding fumes pickled it.

I used to work as a janitor for, among other places, Kansas State Athletics Department (student work at the time while I was getting my degree). The things we'd find were generally interesting. Cleaning out places that hadn't been touched in quite a while could return some interesting results. Like a trash can that'd been missed during a last sweep at the football field before it closed for the season, only to be found mid-summer next year. Yeah, we just took the whole can and tossed it in the dumpster. Or the various leftovers of human waste we'd come across in the bathrooms that'd theoretically been closed for the off-season. These "opening them back up before the season begins" trips were always the ones where we found the most interesting* items.

*interesting here meaning, "most people would scream and run away or simply pass out, but we were so desensitized to it, we just laughed."

I've named it Kevin, and it's honestly one of my more productive coworkers.
