Technically, it was morning. (Again, see the clock. 😁 )

The KILZ had had about four hours to dry, so in the interests of saving time, I went out at about midnight and gave it it's first coat of semi-gloss white:

Still looks a bit splotchy, but the paint is covering well, and I think a second coat will pretty much take care of it once this first one dries.

How did you manage to avoid cramming More Stuff(TM, Patent Pending) into that space?     Electro-gravatational shield?     Gamma rays?    Lack of budget for more stuff?

Around here space like that doesn't last very long.

So technically it is full of stuff, but due to quantum something and probably reverse-polarity neutrons as well it's just not full YET?

It's like Schrödinger's cat. It's both full and not full at the same time. As long as nobody actually looks at it, it'll remain in that same state of superposition no matter how much stuff is placed in there. But if Doc ever takes inventory they'll hear the blast in Fairbanks as the quantum wave function collapses into the "full, and then some!" state..

The same quantum superposition effect works with physical forces as well as matter. We've all seen videos of Wile E. Coyote running off a cliff but not actually falling until he observes that he is in a position where the force of gravity should take precedence over other physical effects.
If it ain't broke, I'll fix it!

Doc needs to give up on that old outdated hardware and pick up something that's been bast...err...Modernized

(think I may have seen one without the updates in Edison's lab in Florida)

-Sheer willpower and ironclad intestinal fortitude. 😁

And, like those kids with the marshmallows, the promise of more stuff in the future! 😁

-Ew, an electric motor? It's not the real thing unless it's run on a waterwheel- or, barring that, two donkeys in a giant hamsterwheel.

It's just not right unless it's organic free range hand made cruelty-free sustainable artisan machinework.

This project is now officially on standby. Earlier this week, after the paint had dried and I shifted a few other things around, I managed to get the two bases moved into about the right position, within an inch or so.

Then the space in between made a convenient spot to park the head and other parts, as they'd been blocking my welding table for a couple weeks now, and that is about it. There's very little else I can do to, well, any of this machine until I get the bed back.

Hey, how you power your overhead line/shaft drive is up to you... But how do you make cruelty free leather belts for drive take off? :)
