Disney owning *both* major comic book houses? that would be... interesting (and possibly Not In A Good Way.)

IIRC, the original Wonder Woman comic had her start in WWII, so I can think of this as an alternate universe, which might have had history develop differently, which would have some historical gaffs. (that's at least me rationalizing such gaffs out- I generally turn my brain off when watching movies so that I can enjoy them instead of playing 'spot the goofs' which comes later. 😀 )

Yeaaah, that trailer was pure cringe, one of the times when I hope the trailer is a terrible misrepresentation of a film! (don't know that I'll bother finding out though)

A glimpse into the Abyss may be had by googling comics SJW;
another by simply googling SJW; and a third by googling Google SJW.

as people posted online that the trailer that dropped was not a finished part of the film. the suit was not fully done in the trailer. I think they may have done a deadpool trick and showed off a little bit of what they were doing but not the movie itself.

That's basically what I said on the first page- they don't have enough of the big splashy shots done yet, so had to piece something together with what little they had.

But even if that's true, it was bad business, I think. A bad trailer is worse than no trailer.

Really, the trailer should have run as it did, right up 'til the first transformation, then after that, only show the shot of the crooks getting thrown out of the window, the wrecked truck falling out of the sky, the swing he makes at Dr. Sivana, the shot of Freddies' hand moving toward the lighting symbol with the sparks, and Batson transforming while running (but without the dialogue.)

Close it with an artsy, barely-lit Hero Pose shot, cut to the titles.

THAT would have been a far better trailer.

Sorry to hear you are still a fan of these and being disappointed.  I've given up on the entire genre.  Reboots and 20 minute long fights are not my thing.  The last remake of Superman's origin story was a massive dump.  Did get a big kick out or Incredibles 2, which shows what good writing and knowing a subject can do.

Keeping in mind that really, only DC is disappointing me.

Yeah, I can't say I'm 100% happy with every little thing in all the Marvel movies (and I have to admit I've missed several of the latest ones for various reasons) but to be honest, I haven't been all that thrilled with any post-Nolan-Batmen DC superhero flick.

I haven't seen Wonder Woman, and didn't bother with Suicide Squad, Man of Steel was objectively terrible not only for the simple cinematic mechanics of it, but also in how they treated the character, Batman vs. Superman wasn't quite as godawful, but sure didn't live up to the hype, Green Lantern was basically a waste of everyones time, and Justice League, while not terrible, couldn't hold a candle to Avengers.

Given that track record, and the quality of the Shazam trailer, I am given really very little reason to hope "this time will be different".

_Man Of Steel_ was better when it was the "Darkseid" arc of _Superman: The Animated Series_....

You definitely should try WW, just to see what the character is like when played by an Israeli Weapons Specialist/Combat Instructor (oh, and Miss Israel).

THIS. Gal Gadot *owned* the character.
