That wouldn't have helped me. If I was earthed at all it was a very high resistance path compared to the quarter inch of water and saliva between hot and neutral, so there was minimal current imbalance. The redness around my mouth was probably from flash heated water. (I don't remember if I had burns inside my mouth after that. It was a long time ago.)BruceBergman wrote: That's the whole idea - If it goes out on the Hot and doesn't come back on the Neutral, that must mean it's going to the Electrical ground OR the water pipe ground OR earth ground somehow - or a mix of all of the above. The GFCI senses the Hot to Neutral imbalance and trips.
You need to check your numbers and SI prefixes..BruceBergman wrote:And now you know why GFCI Outlets for outdoor outlets, in bathrooms, wet-bars and kitchens by the sink are flat out required, and you want to test that they work regularly. 3 MA trip level is low enough to catch most anything a kid could do trying to kill themselves.
One can hope. Slapstick is fine but wit is even better.Xheralt wrote:Is it just me, or is the humor of this getting dryer, the longer it goes on...?hinermad wrote: But it gets really exciting when things are unbalanced.
