I thought it would be interesting to take a look at where all the cast is from the Outsiders TV series.

Jay Ferguson (Ponyboy) - Goes by the name Jay R. Ferguson on IMDB.com. The Outsiders was his first show, and he appeared in Evening Shade, Judging Amy, Surface and Sleeper Cell.

Rodney Harvey (Sodapop) - Sadly, Rodney struggled with drug addiction and was in and out of rehab and prison during his young life. He passed away from a drug overdose in 1998.

Boyd Kestner (Darry) - He's had a very successful acting career with appearances on CSI: Miami, the movie Blackhawk Down, Hannibal, G.I. Jane among others. He has an identical twin brother named Bryan who also acted.

Harold Pruett (Steve) - He had a solid acting career going, but ultimately Rodney succumbed to drug addiction and he died of a heroin overdose in 2002.

David Arquette (Two-Bit) - Arguably one of the most successful actors to come from the show, he's now married to Courtenay Cox and produces his own show, Dirt.

Heather McComb (Scout) - Has appeared in the X-Files, Profiler, CSI: NY, Without a Trace and many other shows. She's married to James Van Der Beek.

Jennifer McComb (Marcia) - Also still acting, with roles on Sliders, Becker, Dawson's Creek and ER. She's Heather's older sister.

Sean Kanan (Gregg) - Sean made the transition to soap operas and played AJ Quartermaine on General Hospital and Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful. His movie Hack! comes out this year.

Scott Coffey (Randy) - Another successful actor, he's appeared in shows like JAG, Mulholland Drive, and has a movie coming out in 2007.

Kim Walker (Cherry) - Kim had a steady career going, including a cult classic role in Heathers. She died in 2001 from a malignant brain tumour.

Billy Bob Thornton (Buck) - An Oscar winner once married to Angelina Jolie, he is still in the acting business and has 2 movies coming out this year.

Robert Rusler (Tim Shepard) - Three films are due to be released with him this year. He's appeared on 24, NCIS, Cold Case and many other shows.

It's sad that so many of the cast members died so young. But it's also nice to see that so many have had solid acting careers since the show.

Isn't it ironic that the guy who played Steve in the TV series died of a Heroine OD. Didn't Ms Hinton say Steve came from Nam with a drug problem.
