you can find out what it was about on the televisio series websites that are linked from this website. it basically tells the story of the Curtis brothers, their friends and their community after the events of the film.

I don't want to see it, because, well they're not the same actors, I think it would be a little weird if Ponyboy or so is an other boy. Thomas Howell is Ponyboy, and no one else!

AND one reason, Johnny is not in it ( well how could he *lol*) maybe these reasons sound a little stupid, but that's what I think!

That's kind of a shallow thing to say...

But the actor of the series was fat. >.< And that's not how Ponyboy is described in the movie. Nearly half the characters in the series were out of character >.< lol

I totally agree! And besides, StayinGold, aren't you a GUY? That's a little wierd. You sound like a Ponyboy obsessed chick. hahaha :P

I definitely DO NOT want to wtach the tv series  I thought the point of the book was these GUYS sticking together. I don't like the idea of Scout- a girl greaser. And I agree with the "out of character" thing. Ponyboy losing his virginity at a such a young age (he didn't even like girls when he was fourteen!), Soda's 'gang' (okay I don't know if this right, a friend if mine told me) beating up a guy 'coz he went out with Soda's ex, and becuse he was another race. Hello? Is this Sodapop Curtis? Sodapop Curtis, sweetest guy ever, understanding, compassionate, forgiving. That is NOT something Soda would do! And what about Darry- hanging out with a married woman? He is a level-headed, smart guy. Why would he go and LOOK for trouble by doing that? It just doesn't sound like them! The tv series ruined the literary classic!

Well, sorry about that. I had to get that out. I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I have a very strong opinion on this. ;)

I think I'm the only one who liked the series, LOL. I thought at times it went out of character and I wasn't too pleased here and there but for the most part I really did like the series.

Even if the actors aren't the same ones, and I don't think it could ever beat the movie, I'd love to watch the series!! Does anyone know if the series was popular??

I really like the series, I just got it on dvd. I think it was pretty good for the most part, but some aspects did seem a little out of character, yeah.
Soda's character just annoys me in the tv series, he seems hopelessly immature most of the time.
I thought the kid who played Ponyboy did a good job though, I also like Tim's character in it.

Someone posted on the imbd message board saying that they had the series on dvd, so I sent them an email and got a set off them. I paid US30 plus shipping. I posted a message here about it, you might not have seen it.

I don't think so. I think you can only get bootlegged copy from maybe Ebay or something like that. My copies are bootlegged.

I don't get why someone's dissing the show just because there's girl greasers... there are girl greasers in the book too!
