Hi everybody,

There was a website called Green Verdugo that had this wonderful tutorial on
making a sweet potato ocarina, I'm sure you've heard of it. The site is no
longer up and the archived version on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine
is missing most of the images.

Does anyone here know if there are any mirrors of the tutorial anywhere?

I don't know this website nor the tutorial, however, I found this page on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/green.verdugo

I don't have a Facebook account, so it is as far as I can get, but maybe you can get in touch with that person who could well be the owner of the website you are referring to.

Best of luck!

Hey, thanks! :^)

It looks like that might be her.

Green Verdugo was run by two sisters, Jacqueline R. and K. Dunster. K. made ocarinas while her sister, J., did functional pottery. They both still sport the "Green Verdugo" title, apparently. I guess they still work together or something. I might have even come across such Facebook page listed in a web search but figured it was the same sister, J. and not K. Dunster...

Well, I'll have to look into what options are available for getting in touch with her, I'm not so hot to trot on making a Facebook account.

Anyways, thanks again. You've helped me. :^)

Glad to have been of help.

There are many people here with Facebook, maybe someone can ask on your behalf.

Wollemi, I think this tutorial is not very good. I plan to make a better & more detailed tutorial soon :)

I did find the original Green Verdugo tutorial on Wayback Machine. You have to go back to the year 2015. I see the images, too.

I've looked over the Wayback Machine's archives. Only the first page of each of the chapters have their images intact while the subsequent pages all have missing images.

As for that tutorial; I have come across it, it even cites Green Verdugo (spelled Vurdugo in the instructable) as it's source. It's an okay summary of the Green Verdugo tutorial, I guess but the Green Verdugo tutorial was extremely detailed and well illustrated. It even went into detail on individual aspects of the ocarina such as how exactly to shape the voicing, mouthpiece, tuning it, how it all worked... All with detailed photos and diagrams.

Thanks for the responses, though. I really appreciate it. :^)

It seems worth asking for the original tutorial then...

I have so much thing to do, but I'd probably download such a tutorial... For when I'm retired... If that ever happens :)
