It's Tuesday, which means a new OcTalk! In today's video, I review the ocarina's classification systems. There has always been much talk, confusion, and debate on this topic, but I hope it makes things a little clearer for beginning ocarinists.

Enjoy! http://bit.ly/ocarina-classifications

EDIT: I had also included this in my description, but I would also like to thank the following people for helping me research each of the systems to provide the most accurate descriptions of each possible: David and Christa Liggins, Krešimir Cindrić, Claudio Cedroni, Johann Rotter, Fabio Galliani, Kuolong Pan, and Jinook Kim. And thanks to Mark Chan for the emotional support...this all proved rather stressful, lol.

For goodness sake, get a little rest! :noes:

As always, very insightful and ever enjoyable! Keep up the good work.

Have you considered doing an Octalk about the different types of ocarinas in regards to actual make (like how Italian Oc's have that bump on the left side. ect. ) :?

Thanks so much - ocarina pitch-name systems have always confused me (I only know the orchestral/piano notation with A4=440Hz etc.) Now it's all becoming clear (..er :) )

A second vote here for an explanation of the different ocarina shapes/designs, please. Why do Italian and Asian models look so different? Does a rounder shape mean less stable note pitching? (Experience with pendants says 'yes'). What about something with sharp corners, like the Mountain OCs?

This week's episode is for all the beginners and Zelda fans out there! A lot of people have been asking me to release a new "How to play" video, so I thought I'd tackle one of my favorite Zelda games, especially with all excitement for Majora's Mask 3D! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85rC5-w0uaU

I also had some major problems with my computer this week, which is not letting me export videos properly, so the image quality has dropped a bit, which already wasn't the best to begin with due to my old camera :(
