Two views to show the roof top and the neat curved building in front of the station and the closeup of the tower:

NH RR Waterbury Railway Station pic 10.jpgI checked Model Railroader for the article, but didn't find it in the search. Remember, Mr. David Popp models the Waterbury in N scale and is easy to contact as the producer of Model Railroader Video Plus. He may have more information and tips on modeling it. Hope these help you out more.

I contacted Mr. David Popp and he recommended Shoreliner Volume 22 issue 2 also, that is where he got his info .

Thought I'd put this in here -- if inappropriate or irrelevant, please delete it.
I read somewhere that whoever designed the Waterbury station was inspired by a place in Italy.  While walking around Florence -- I found it!  As a side note, when I was showing the pictures I took of my trip to my family, my son-in-law exclaimed: what's that picture of the Waterbury railroad station doing in there?

That's a very relevant photo, thanks for posting.  That's the tower that inspired the NYNH&H president (sitting here I can't remember if it was Mellon) to build the Waterbury tower.

I had heard of the tower in Italy, but I have never seen a picture of it, thanks for posting that .

Thank you, even in HO scale this would be a four foot building.

Here is a picture of a model I saw at the Amherst show at the Big E in 2013.  They told me it was the building plan printed and colored on foam core and was about 75% of HO scale. IMG_0967.jpg
