This is weird  I Get my  Shoreliner in Salem, OR Before most who live closer ?? But then
I can send a letter to Mom in So Cal or parts to a friend in the O.C. And a couple times the next day they get it / them. On the other hand can send a letter to Portland ( 65 ) miles a way & it takes a week or more to get there.

Re: Boat Race Train-- A parallel article appears in Central Vermont Railway Historical Society's The Ambassador, Vol. 26, Number 1 (latest issue) -- "The Boat Race Trains, New London CT, Pre-1941" by Kristin Dummler.  Competing companies with respective lines along opposite sides of the Thames River racecourse.  One can't ask for better coverage of the venerable Yale/Harvard contest.  Great job both historical societies!
Re: Kent Cochrane's Quest . . . -- Having acquired this photo masterwork collection, then publishing such wonderful samplings with Tom Curtin's knowledgeable text is among the best things NHRHTA has done.
