Re: NE-5 Caboose

Don't panic. I just checked the NE-5 page you get to from the production schedule:
http://www.atlasrr.com/NFreight/nne5caboose.htm
and undec is there on the first line:
50 003 495 Undecorated
I also noticed that 1 B&M and 2 CGW versions are missing from the Atlas Store page; no idea why.

<t>Limestone (crushed into powder). Canaan, CT had, and still has, 3 active limestone quarries and all 3 shipped by rail during NH days. The southernmost quarry, U.S. Gypsum, was a very profitable customer for the NH: an all-NH routing from Canaan to Oak Point until closing in the early 1970's. One ...

Berkshire bus

I believe E.J. Kelley, based in Torrington, ran the bus that replaced the weekday NH Budd car on the Berk from Danbury to Pittsfield. Never saw the bus, but that trip is about 90 miles each way, so sure it was a "motor coach", not a city bus like the Rapido model.

Clinton

<t>Good catch, as the eBay caption says "New London". The caption refers to the billboard on the right, advertising the Lighthouse Inn in New London. Scroll down in the eBay listing and you'll see there are many more NH slides for sale; evidently a series that someone took of interesting signals all...

It's at Canaan

<t>The only place I know on the Berk with water columns is at Canaan. This column is south of the station, about where the south wye joins the Berk. The column's foundation, complete with drain, is still there. A really nice shot and one you couldn't get today with all the trees and brush that have ...
