Re: Unknown Building in Putnam

Hi Ron, Thanks for posting the photos. The last one is the building, it is the first photo I have seen of it. It shows up on the Sanborn maps from 1929 and 1945. It has the note hay and grain. It looks to be at least three grain dealers in the yard area, including one that uses the old roundhouse wh...

Unknown Building in Putnam

I have a question about a structure in the yard in Putnam Ct.  There was a structure on the west side of the yard towards the north end.  It looks like it could be up to 200 feet long by maybe 30 feet wide.  (No it is not the freight house.)  It appears to have a siding running along the side of it....

Re: 2017 Reunion and Train Show

I agree, it was a great day.  I like having it earlier in the year like this as it gives more day light for the event and travel.  I look forward to next year.

Re: The Rebuilt by Alco FAs FBs and the correct color of the red orange

I find that the Badger Red/Orange is an excellent match to the Micro Scale lettering.  This is not a big deal on the Albert scheme locomotives, but it is for paining McGinnis locomotives.  I also use it for my Alpert paint jobs as well.

Re: ATLAS Plastic NH EP-2

Hi Jim,

They look interesting.  The Atlas is a different one then our friends in New Jersey.  I looked at one and the person's other auctions included an electric that at least resemble some of the very early NH box cabs.

The seller is: heyang-model

I have never dealt with them.

Re: New Haven parlor car service

There's also a very good photo on p. 28 of Trackside New Haven with Thomas J  McNamara at Stratford, dated 1958.  I am inclined to believe the train is #175, The Colonial .  The HW parlor is still fully in Pullman Green. The print is too small to read the car name on the HW parlor, but it's two wor...

Re: JAZZ AND THE NEW HAVEN

You can hear a cut from the album on YouTube, it is very interesting, it has a sound reminiscent of riding on a train.

Re: Email notifications about a posting

I am thinking give it 24 hours. The odd thing is I set up my signature to include my blog and web site and it does not show up. But is I go back to old posts (like 2005) the signature shows up! Go figure.
