Not having access to my New Haven information at the moment I figured this is the next best way.

 1) How many and what road numbers got the Black cab Orange hood scheme? I know about 526, and 529
      A) I have one picture of 526 with a single head light and I know others got the twin sealed beam, again what road numbers
             got what ?
 2) How many and what road numbers got the New Image scheme? I know about 546.
 3) How many kept their original paint scheme if any or a some what modified scheme?

   Thanks in advance

Bill this is what I have. I gathered this info from forum posts.  Also by searching my books, my own photo collection and photo from the internet including Ebay. I am pretty sure that I have photos on my computer for all engines listed in this excel sheet.

All the type 1,1a 2,3 rebuilds have the Alpert Black cab Red body hoods. any duplication of numbers from Red cab Black body to the Alpert means a repaint to Alpert scheme . I don't have dates but as a general rule Late 1950s ,the Shoreliners from

Thanks Bill I do not have a photo of 561 in that scheme all I have is 3 photos in the original scheme but I will up date my list. Is it a type 3 rebuild with the raised area on the long hood under the exhaust stack and no water tank steam generator ? Or a NH home shop rebuild and single or dual headlight?

For  those interested Bachmann' s HO RS3 is numbered 543 ,it has a single bulb headlight which is correct but you would need to add steam generator equip and cab signal box as well as grabs on the hood. I think the Bachmann engine is pretty good although the truck sideframes are just fair I have removed the DCC board and run DC only and they run well. I have some B&M DCC w sound units that run well and they are dual mode DCC /DC.

Hi Bill,

My records show 561 remained in it's delivery scheme until at least July 1965 according to a photo at Cedar Hill.

Regards,
Peter

Dave,

Nice hearing from you. Where have you been? I have photos of the 521 in that mongrel scheme that I posted a while back. (Check Archive #9 or RS-3 521 in the search engine) Also, units 550 & 559 had a narrow horizontal "bar" on the "H" in the logo.
