I had the brass plates from a good share of the Lima-Hamilton switchers (630 class) but I traded them, sold them or whatever.

I had the plate from FL-9 2029 which I donated to the Florida East Coast to reunite with the locomotive. The only plate I still have is from 0967 and it is an
Alco/GE plate off an engine that I ran many times.

I am not a collector of plates and other hardware. I still have some other stuff like control and brake handles, switch keys and

locks and two CV number plates off steam locomotive tenders. I have a scissors phone set that came from the Waterbury

Engine House when the place was closed down in 1958. I do not have a value on this stuff, beauty is in the eyes of the

beholder anyway.

The complete inventory of my collection is thicker than any telephone directory anywhere and it took me 5 years to compile

and finish. It is all in the computer too and backed up as well.

Michael, when you and I visited Cedar Hill Yard in August of 1962, the John QuincyAdams had both it's builders plates and trust plates. I shot a slide of
them. The picture that I have of the builder plate area on the Dan'l Webster shows all builders plates and two of the four trust plates were gone. Two of
the cast BLW trust plates were still attached, but not the builders plates. Only a silver rectangle remained, where the plates had been, with empty screw
holes on all four locations. The cast plate that remained said "Baldwin Lima Hamilton Corporation, Owner" and could be thought of as a builders
plate. I have a close up slide of that area of the loco. I was in to shooting builders plates back then.

You have a good memory Brad. I recall us going to Cedar Hill and returning a few weeks later with some tools to remove plates from the equipment on the dead
line. I recall we got some silver rectangler plates from the JQA or DW. Don't know who I gave mine to because it was about the time I discovered cars and
girls. Railroading took a distant second place to that till 67 when I went to work for the NH. What good days those were. Drive your muscle car to work, bring
your girlfriend with you and get paid to watch trains from the tower or drawbridge. Fire me off a email and let me know how your doing.

The JQA's FM flat metal builder's plates were located next to their Trust plates by the cab door. The DW's did not have Trust plates in that area
and the builder's plates were located a little more toward the front. I believe when the DW left New Haven 8-26-64 towed behind the PA's the two locos
had their plates. When the FM units went to scrap in the PC era I suspect they did not.

Henry, which PA do you have? I wonder who has 0779?
I have the builders plate off 0779. S/N 76321

Matt Lawson:
On the old Forum there was a way to leave messages for other Forum members without publishing your own email address on the Forum. If this is still possible could you contact me at your convenience, I'd like to discuss your plate with you.
