My great grand father was the baggage master at the Mattapan Railroad station on Blue Hill Ave. However I see that there are two stations on Blue Hill Ave. One the tracks end on Blue Hill Ave. and trains went to Boston. The other station was off Blue Hill Ave. near a bridge with a street (may be gone now) that went down to the station. I have a picture of him in front of a enclosed box type building maybe 5 feet tall 8-10 feet long however in pictures of stations I don't see this building so not sure which station he worked at.
Anyone can help would be great.

Gary LaPointe has developed a website with pictures of railroad stations in Massachusetts. I contributed some photos of the B&A freight station in Westborough, MA long before it was demolished to make way for a commercial development.

You can find some photos of the Mattapan station on this page: http://www.lightlink.com/sglap3/massach ... olkco.html

One of the stations in Mattapan is now part of the MBTA trolley line and the other I believe was on the Dorchester freight line up the street from Mattapan Square.

I did a little Google Mapping and came up with this Street View shot of one of the Mattapan stations.

The old station there was a pizza place for years, not sure what's in there now.
