Lima Switchers and the FMs 560/590 series,1600 series, 790 series

When the New Haven took the Lima switchers out of Maybrook where did they end up? Any picture that I have seen is always at Maybrook. I don't recall seeing any pictures in their new assignment.

They were transferred to Providence which apparently turned out to be a mistake.

So is that why the FMs were removed from Providence if so where did they end up?

One of the Providence FMs was rebuilt and reassigned to Oak Point Yard on the Harlem River Branch to handle the increased traffic between Oak Point Yard and the Bronx Terminal Market at Hunt's Point.

More questions;  What year did this all happen? Lima's and FM's relocated? What purpose did it serve? Take them away from the shop people that knew how to repair/service them is asking for trouble.

 Also did the 1600 series FMs and C-Liners get serviced in Providence or just the 560/590 series?

Can't overly comment on all the maintenance questions, but I believe it was the 0952 that came to Oak Point around 1966.  All Oak Point had up to that time were Alco switchers and one (maybe two?) SW1200s.  The FM had 1,600 horsepower, and (I believe) Westinghouse motors, so it was well able to drag a long string of cars from Oak Point to Hunt's Point with no problem.  Had a 20-car NX-6 stall out on me at New Rochelle Junction once.  That had an SW1200 struggling to get the train through the interlocking plant from a dead stop.

Servicing 1600s and C-Liners in Providence

The 1600s and C-Liners could be seen at the Charles Street engine facility in Providence receiving routine servicing but I don't know how extensive the maintenance was at that location  -- I suspect it was very basic.  I took the photo of 1612 at Charles St. in 1960 and the 795 in early 1958.  The older FM road switchers were plentiful but I don't recall ever seeing a Lima switcher in Providence and don't think I ever saw a photo of a Lima in Providence.
