Mr. NH746EJO posted this picture on the Y-3 in Passenger Service? thread on the Forum on December 9th and its caption read "1407 AT MAYBROOK. 1407's fire is being cleaned and ashes dumped at the Maybrook ash pit in preparation for the return of the fan trip.  The fan taking the picture is using what was a common camera at the time. The ash pit is the open type that was cleared with a mobile crane.  The fire cleaner could only reach the firebox ash pan from one side.   The water hose on the ground was used to wash out the ash pan and ash hopper.  Also note the fire cleaning hook on the ground.  This is a New Haven publicity photo."
That was the first time I ever saw the picture or was made aware of the I-5's reaching Maybrook thanks to Mr. Abramson and Mr. NH746EJO. I just wanted to add the caption that was previously posted with this picture last month in case some didn't connect the two pictures as being the same subject.
