I noticed at some book dealers copies of the New Haven Passenger car diagrams and the Freight car diagrams and the 1955 & 1962 Passenger Train Consists published by BHI Publications..  I thought NHRHTA had the rights to that information.  Is NHRHTA supporting this or is BHI skirting around the ownership of the information?

Interesting this topic just appeared, as today another poster on the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum's forum noted BHI Publications is shutting down.

I wasn't aware that the NHRHTA had the copyright to New Haven Railroad published material. I purchased four books directly from BHI Publications just recently. Each one has written on the bottom of the cover "Digitally restored & edited by BHI Publications." New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Passenger Train Consists 1952 has "©2014 BHI Publications, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, DUPLICATION PROHIBITED" on the bottom of each page. New York, New Haven & Hartford R.R. CO. Description of Passenger Equipment, September 30, 1956 has "©2013 BHI Publications, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, DUPLICATION PROHIBITED" on the bottom of each page. New York, New Haven & Hartford RR Freight Schdules - 1956 has "©2015 BHI Publications, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, DUPLICATION PROHIBITED" on the bottom of each page. New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Passenger Train Consists 1955 & 1962 has "©2013 BHI Publications, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, DUPLICATION PROHIBITED" on the bottom of each page. They are copies of the original type written or printed material on 8x11 paper stock with plastic spiral binders. I bought them for setting up trains later on, and as references when questions come up. I couldn't find anything on the Cape Codders and Neptune passenger trains in either passenger consist book though. I don't know about the copyrighting of the material. But, this is what I have in front of me for the four New Haven items I bought.

Interesting. I'd note (and I am not a lawyer but have had a bit of experience with this) that nobody has copyright until they assert it on the article in question. I have no idea why BHI is shutting down, but perhaps it might be that they did this to something where the actual holder of copyright could afford a good IP lawyer ...

I went to their web page, when I clicked on the Railroad Publications tab the fourth line down mentions on going health issues. I guess this might be the reason for closing up shop.
