Another Movie With New Haven Passenger Cars In It

I was watching the 1969 movie "Alice's Restaurant" about singer Arlo Guthrie and during the movie, Arlo and a gaggle of riends get off a 8600 series coach at the Great Barrington, Massachusetts or Stockbridge, Massachusetts passenger station. Both stations are stone and look very similar, so I'm not sure which it was. The car is seen up close for a good bit of time and is coupled with a combine/smoker in the Black Knight livery. Just to make sure that you understand that this is not an action packed, fast paced movie, and the album of the same name has a little more excitement to it. Just a forewarning.

The movie and the New Haven's "involvement" has been discussed here multiple times.

Long story short, nobody from the movie side told the New Haven they were doing this, or asked permission.

All the movie extras got on the train at the preceding station (no agent on duty to sell tickets), so everyone overwhelmed the train crew purchasing one-stop tickets for cash.  Additionally, although Pete McLaughlin was the engineer, the actual person operating the locomotive that day was George Kowanski, a railfan, not an employee.

Thanks Mr. Statkowski for the additional information. I didn't remember this movie on the list of movies so I made the post.

While not the full car, the producers of Equalizer 2 purchased the seats from one of our 8600 coaches for the movie.  Have not seen the movie yet, to see it the scene made it to the final cut or if it was left on the cutting room floor.

Not a problem, Jim.  Just keeping you on your toes.  Everyone has goals in life.  We now know what yours is.  I'm still trying to figure out what mine are.
