So exclaimed a woman who walked up behind me in a store yesterday.

This is what she saw:

This is my first Flexi, by the way. I got it last week, and I really like it. I'm so glad that I was able to get a gold one, because silver just doesn't work with my "warm" coloring.

No wonder, it truly is darling. I have always admired the colour of your hair. The gold flexi really sets it off

I guess you could call it cute. But the words that come to mind for me are feminine, gorgeous, classic, beautiful, mysterious, and awe-inspiring.

The Flexi and style look great. And I love it with the hat. Did you make it yourself? I think I could wear a hat like that. I never seem to know what to do with my hair when I wear a hat except a long braid.

Progress from June 2006 - January 2011

2a/M/ii
Mid-Dark brown with natural red and silver highlights; fringe/bangs.
Starting length: 25"/62.5cm (BSL)
Current length: 33.5" (Cut back from 38.5" February 2011 following a massive shed.)
New Goal: Healthy hair that I'm happy with!

Current routine: Oil lightly before washing with a mix of olive, coconut, avocado and almond oils. Scalp wash every second to third day using Chagrin Valley shampoo bars. Finish with acidic rinse (1 tsp ACV or lime juice to 2 cups of water or herbal tea). A'kin conditioner on the ends when I feel it needs it.
Other: Oiling when required with avocado and almond oil or shea butter; S&D when I think of it; BBB; wooden comb; Mason Pearson comb; hair sticks, Flexi-8's, Ficcare, and other hair friendly toys.

I can't crotchet - well only a little bit but certainly not enough to be able to make something like that.

Back to the drawing board for me then as far as hats go.

43 years old

shaking up my routine and trying a sort of Curly Girl / Live Curly Live Free / Grow Hair Fast regimen with homemade shampoos and natural conditioner like AO & Yes to Cucumbers
scalp massages, scalp brushing w/ BBB, detangling w/ fingers, scrunching, air drying

battling autoimmune issues and major shedding for the last 5 years or so, as well as post-adoption stress (evident in the first April 2011 pic in my signature)

[I originally found the Loom and started measuring back in April 2007 (17.5"), but with such thin, scraggly looking hair from my health issues and stress, I've been so disappointed and have gotten a few big cuts, only reaching 23.5" at the end of September 2010. Now I'm starting all over again!]

So exclaimed a woman who walked up behind me in a store yesterday.

This is what she saw:

This is my first Flexi, by the way. I got it last week, and I really like it. I'm so glad that I was able to get a gold one, because silver just doesn't work with my "warm" coloring.

your folded braid updo is beautiful (and your curls are amaizingly beautiful too by the way), and the flexy compliments your hair color so perfectly!
No wonder that woman liked it

...you could knit and/or crochet with some practice. My mom taught me many years ago. As for being all thumbs, your proficiency with braiding and other styles belies that remark.

I'm pleased that you approve of my hair, Flexi, and needlework.

Your overall appearance is so pretty and aesthetically pleasing, that I'm just saying the truth

Well, I can braid just because I practiced a lot... But I'm afraid knitting is a totally different thing. I tried to take it up, but I can't figure out which hand is supposed to do what. I know it sounds weird, but it's so. I don't have a dominant hand, so it can take a long time to figure out which hand can do a task better.

Thanks, Lori! I found that yarn years ago, and I love how well it goes with my hair.

I'd say... cute and a lot more! Your cap is just the right color too, along with the Flexi. It came together beautifully.
