Well, when I was revamping my siggy last week, I didn't have any new photos of my length, so I thought I better do that today!

My hair has grown 5" since joining the Loom last August, and is about an inch shy of tailbone length now, although it is sometimes difficult to see, since my curls tend to hide much of my growth progress! So somedays it is longer than others, just depending on what my hair decides to do that day...LOL

Here are a few pics, of total length, and of my curls...

Well Lace, I've been called a lot of things in my time, but magnificent was not one of them...LOL

You crack me up...

I would love to trade hair....I actually think that would be cool....I could have yours one weekend, Lori's the next, and then Miss O's....I would have an identity crisis, but oh how fun it would be!

Thanks for the kind words...

When I was a teenager, I absolutely HATED my hair....I couldn't get it to do anything, and spent endless hours in front of the mirror trying to straighten, which I think was probably worse, since it never got really straight. I was the brunt of many a teasing session....kids can be so mean.

But, I remember when I went back to school for my junior year...over the summer I had gotten my braces taken off (after 8 years), I had contacts instead of glasses, and most importantly, I had figured out what to do with my hair. I walked into school, and nobody knew who I was! LOL....

My curls come from my grandma on my mom's side, and from my daddy.....and I wouldn't trade them for anything now!

I'm sure you will hit classic, and soon. Even though curls eat up length, your hair grows quickly, so you'll be there in no time By the way, I love the collage in your siggy!

Great pics Misty! Wow, those are some fabluous curls!

1cF/Mii
CO washing most days, shampoo 1 or 2 times a week. Detangler as needed. Deep condition about once a week with jojoba or plain ol' coconut oil. Regularly use coconut oil on ends when the weather is dry. Exfoliate scalp with sugar mixed into cheap conditioner whenever I feel like I need it. Heat styling (dryers/curling iron) used probably 6 times a year only for special occasions.

23/32.25"/tailbone

My hair right about the time I started, I had tried to dye the bleached ends to match the roots, but as you can see from the next pic, the dye didn't hold very long.

November 2008 since I started using cassia. Not much growth since August but I Love the shine I'm getting from the Cassia and it seems to really be protecting my ends

Oh, Misty, your curls looks awesome! It makes me wish I hadn't cut mine (which look exactly like yours) back to shoulder length a year and a half ago. I'm growing them out again, but as you well know it takes much too long. Every day after my shower I get all happy that my hair reaches the bottom of my shoulder blades, and then an hour later it's three inches shorter.

I'm curious, do you have any layers cut into your hair? That's why I cut mine, because I finally got tired of dealing with the tangles and the ratty-looking mess it would turn into by the end of the day. So the stylist cut it to my shoulders, and left it all one length despite my requests for layers. Imagine my frustration when the tangles were just as bad short as they had been long! So I went ahead and cut myself layers, and haven't had to deal with the ratty, tangly ends since (and I didn't turn into a triangle-head like the stylist predicted. Hah!).

Here's to long hair and curly girls!

Thanks for the kind words!

P.S.---> I love the red hairsticks you have....are those one of Fox's creations? I thought that they might be, because I have a pair that have that same little venetian glass doo-dad at the top, but instead of red, mine are clearish, with a purple swirl thru them. I think of you and your red ones, everytime I wear mine!

Me thinks I need to buy another set of Fox sticks soon....I love them!

~Shadow
My Dear Shadow....

I have you to thank for my curls behaving...you were most helpful, when I was going thru a rough time with them earlier this year!

I am growing out my layers, and I am almost there....with the exception of my bangs! They are right about chin length right now. I have had long layers in my hair for a long time, mainly because my hair curls better with them, but I am trying to grow it all out to the same length, just to see what I think of it.

I am also debated about bringing some of my bangs back. I like the ease of not having to deal with them, but I also think I have too much forehead to be without them....I just dunno at this point.

I totally understand losing a couple inches of length, once your hair curls up! Don't lose faith, I know that you will be back to the length you want...and your hair will be so healthy when it reaches that point!

Your curly friend,

~Misty

Well, when I was revamping my siggy last week, I didn't have any new photos of my length, so I thought I better do that today!

My hair has grown 5" since joining the Loom last August, and is about an inch shy of tailbone length now, although it is sometimes difficult to see, since my curls tend to hide much of my growth progress! So somedays it is longer than others, just depending on what my hair decides to do that day...LOL

Here are a few pics, of total length, and of my curls...

I love those curls! I would trade with you for a weekend =D. It looks so healthy and shiny. The clip is beautiful too.

Light brown hair.
36.4 inch/93cm TBL. Trying if I can get it to classic and/or 1 m long.
2bNiii with spiral curls at my ears and nape.
We could trade, so I would be able to know what it's like to have silky, shiny, brushable locks like yours!

Our curls are a little bit different...yours look to be much "springier" than mine...I love how yours stay so tight, all the way to the ends!

Yay for curls!

Hi, Misty!

I was just wondering yesterday if any curly-haired ladies have been able to grow their hair long successfully. Imagine my delight when I looked at the Loom for the first time in many moons and found your post (and then other lovely-haired ladies, too!). I've been wanting to grow my hair out, but it's been a long process because I get so frustrated (you can see my story in my siggy and also in a new post I just made). But I hope to learn from you and the others...and maybe you all can encourage me to push past 23 inches, where it looks so scraggly (my hair volume is very thin).

I love your photos and curls and styles. Thank you for sharing, and happy growing!

~Debbie

Thanks for your kind words....I look forward to chatting with you more!

Misty, I have enjoyed noting that there are several curly girls here! It does help me think that maybe, just maybe, I can have long hair, too. Looking forward to chatting with you more, too!
