I know it has been awhile since I posted on here. I hope you all are doing well! I wanted to give you a tangle update. Last I had mentioned, I decided to take the advice of my online friend Torrin Paige from Youtube and try Silk Drops for tangles. I have always had horrible tangles, and have chopped my hair many times because of it. The Silk Drops are loaded with cones. I had always stayed away from cones thinking they were bad for my hair. I was so desperate that I decided to give it a try. I have been using Silk Drops for a few months now. The lack of tangles is WONDERFUL!! I can actually wear my hair down!! I wore my hair down the other day, after I had rag curled it. This is usually a recipe for disaster when it comes to tangles. After wearing it down all day, I only had a few tangles!! Whoo hoo!!!!

I think that as long as you clarify every now and then you'll do ok. Where I really like to keep away from silicones most, is the scalp. I don't think they are good for the scalp or hair follicles, but with clarification, I think they have a use on the length, especially for those who tangle a lot. My sister-in-law has had similar problems and she uses some cone products and it's helped her too.

That's wonderful, Jen! And it deserves not one, but several happy dances:

Your hair looks gorgeous! I'm happy that you can finally wear your hair down without fear of detangling later. That alone is a great thing, and I hope you can wear your hair down whenever your feel like it

Hair type: 2b/M/C/iii
Current length: classic
Primary goal: thickening the ends

Hair journal:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/663765

Routine:
- NW/SO on the scalp, with periodical length
washes (Alverde birke-salbei shampoo for the length)
- brushing, scritching, preening and massaging daily
- occasional S&D trims
- trimming the ends whenever they start looking funny
Hair type: 2b/M/C/iii
Current length: classic+
Current goal: knee

Current routine:
~ alternating a NW/SO (no water/sebum only) routine with occasional washes. I use the techniques of NW/SO (brushing, scritching and preening) almost daily, but I do a shampoo wash every month or two.

Products and tools:
~ Alverde Birke-Salbei shampoo
~ occasionally oiling the ends with either coconut or almond oil; currently experimenting with argan oil
~ an assortment of BBBs
~ Tangle Teezer/Tangle Angel & wide-tooth comb
~ hair friendly hair toys, for putting up hair and forgetting about it
