This is a style that I saw Tiffanie on the Long Hair Community show in her avatar. Now, since TLHC is down, my link to it no longer works. Mermayd, I hope this is the style you were describing on the main board. If not, it is a great style and is easy as well as comfortable. Okay here goes:
First I gather all of my hair into a pony.

Next, I coil most of it and grab it in the middle with my right hand:

Where I grab it with my right hand, I twist so that the part in my left hand goes under the twist. I twist the top portion a couple more times and it ends up looking like this:
and this: I secure the top portion with my scrolled slide, but I do think a hairstick would work, too. The finished product is a little off center, so I had to adjust it after I got to work, but you get the idea:

Well, let me know what you think!

and easy. A variation I often do is to start a cinnamon bun and start securing it, but leave the ends unsecured. It also gives the shorter pony and you can make the pony as long or as short as you like.

Great job Kara!

....my hair is much shorter so I don't have as much ends hanging out of the bottom. Also, I think I twist it differently....Yes....this is what I do:

-Gather hair into a pony.

-Twist most of the length clockwise except for the last couple inches (but remember that my hair is not nearly as long as yours). Also, I twist it upwards, as if making a French Twist, similar to your first photo. I should point out that I twist it with my right hand.

-Next I loop the hair over my left index finger, looping to the right. (I hope that makes sense.) Then I give my hair a counter-clockwise twist. I think you twist in the same direction that you originally twisted. Is that right?

-Then I just clip with a claw.

OK, sorry if that wasn't clear. Lol! I just thought it was similar to what you're doing in the pictures, but slightly different. I'm not saying this is attractive, by the way. (Your style looks way better!) But this is the way I wear my hair pretty much every day.

The only difference is that I didn't twist "as much" down the hair shaft and I made it a little smaller, so that I'd have a longer tail. Then I wrapped the tail around it all and tucked in the ends. But that's exactly the idea!

The picture looks great! It's also a great style if you want to "wear your hair short" for a day!

I will have to make a trip to Claire's and see if I can find something like that.

And thanks for the compliments on my hair. I'm really happy with the way it's growing and how it's looking. I can't wait for it to get longer so I can do more things with it.
