Here are instructions for my favorite half updo.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pull back half of your hair for a half updo.
Start twisting the top part of your hair.
Once twisted, pull the twisted part up towards the front of your head and lay it on top of itself.
Using a Ficcare Maximus style clip (I usually use a cheap imitation I got at Target that actually works better for me), put the bottom of the clip under the whole flipped up section of hair, making sure you grab the hair near the scalp as well. You might have to try this a few times to get it right, but then it’s easy.
Flip the hair over the clip and voila!
I love your hair. It's just how I want mine to be. We have very similar hair. I also used to perm(don't know why really my hair is light-med blond, 2b/c,f,ii-iii)> GO figure musta been the 80's LOL. It's nice to see kinda what my hair will be like when it "grows" up. Thanks for the inspiration.
That whis does not kill us makes us stronger.
