I'm usually wary of Blu-Rays but this is, so far, exceptional. All 14 films, to included the two from Fox, that Rathbone and Bruce did. I've sampled the quality, and it is much better than anything else.
So far, I've watched the Fox features, and the both have advanced in my opinion, though ADVENTURES is in need of some serious, and time and money consuming, cleaning up. There is a feature on the general upgrade, too.

"There's an east wind coming, Watson..."

Though it may not get that much respect, this film is good patriotic one, with the Limehouse denizens rising up to fight the Nazis. Of course, Holmes figures the mystery out, and Watson is the one fixed point in a changing age.

About the HD quality, the film suffers during the beginning of the Limehouse sequence, possibly indicating the necessity of using 16mm at that point. And Rathbone wears his peculiar hairdo, which I still don't have a reason for, unless it just part of the update.

I should mention that Henry Daniell is always fun and captivating to watch.

SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE SECRET WEAPON. Sharp, no doubt, but a lot of mosquitoes where there should not be any or very minimal. Still enjoyed the version, but if you see the DVD version, you will get to see the film without all those damn mosquitoes!

I did an "oh, oh" when SHERLOCK HOLMES IN WASHINGTON started, as I expected a lot of mosquitoes. The picture did stabilize, however. I will say that the quality of these Blu-Rays can be problematic. They look sharper, but there a noticeable increase in grain, which for some reason, and some people, is the hallmark of a solid release. The grain here on these early Universals can be distracting, if you are not prepared for it.
