Always had a great respect for Kenpo and Kenpo practitioners and recently edited this piece together, in the opening there are a few Kenpo clips. Haven't released this material for a long time, the Kenpo part comes from my Kenpo Street Fighter's DVD Series, thought it might be of interest to some here.

Best regards,

Martin Wheeler

It is not often one would come across an individual you can actually watch become better as time passes by. Martin Wheeler in my own opinion ....is an example of a Modern Bruce Lee. He is well versed in Kenpo,Judo,Filipino Martial Arts,boxing/Kickboxing,Systema, and has put his skills to the test on the street and was the first to win the Self-Defense division at the US Open tournament here in Florida when it was introduced by promoter Mike Sawyer.
There are many great athletes in our industry and I will say Martin is right up there as one of the very top to come out of the Kenpo community.
Having been on the recieving end along with his training partner Mark Waldron I will say these guys both can pack a hit and deliver their weapons right to the target and with awesome power, control and above all results.
Martin ...thank you for being a fine example of a true Warrior with a humble mind set and above all for the many years of being one of those guys I have extreme respect for...I salute you and want to say thank you for the many years you allowed me to call you friend as well as being a training partner when we were all on the road traveling together at the many events we were at.

Lots of Kosho, (as taught by Bruce Juchnik) in those movements. Similarity is there..."Natural"

Nice flow...
I remember 4 years or so ago, discussing that with a mod over at Kenpo Talk.. Hmmm

Terms, got to love um...

Mr. Wheeler,

I have heard many wonderful things about you several people; primarily my instructor, Sean Kelley, and Ed Parker Jr. I like what you bring to the table and I am looking forward to meeting you in February at the annual Florida camp.

Got to spend some time with Martin a few days ago watching him teach a class in LA. And a fun time was had by all.
Looking at the clip again reminded me that I always get this warm, fuzzy feeling every time I watch Martin beat the crap out of Mark.

Hi there, thanks for the comments, look forward to seeing you all soon. Sean, always a pleasure. Dave it was great seeing you the other day and Trejo, what can I say that hasn't already been said about you my friend? He he he.

And Gary, I appreciate your comment and did look up that website, Kosho looks interesting, but it is not what I am showing in this clip. That work came Systema. If you like you can go to wheelersystema.com and see other clips or look at these youtube clips

I think you will see it is a very different art... But appreciate your comment all the same.

Martin.

Martin,

Bruce tried to get EPJ, to the "Gathering" to see further into what you/he are doing, and show some of his material.

But alas, it did not happen...

My son is very interested in the art you are teaching...

I'll forward this to him...

Thank you,
Gary

You don't know me but I have heard of your legend for many years. My Instructor Steve White from Manchester NH and Al McGluckie to name a few have always held you in the highest regard. Those videos are first I have seen of you doing Systema. I have most of Vladimir's videos and I can honestly say you move just like him, but I love the Kenpo flair you add to it. VERY enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing! Peace - Jim
