I think his targets could be better defined, like four strikes to the stomach is a little much, he should be hitting the groin with two of them. He makes some good points about the lower snap strike and the double claw though.

Other than that his "chi" breathing is all over the place, better watched on mute.

That was a clip of Roy Macdonald from Jersey C.I. and he is an 8th degree black. I wanted to see what people thought of that performance.

If I took this right, you were complimenting me, but I don't think I am under-ranked. In fact, I feel I have a lot of growing to do to feel comfortable as a 4th.

Thanks!

Think anything of it, just another finger set with a lot of heavy breathing.

...in your world, Clyde?

I agree that the breathing was humorous. My take is that I have seen much better (and worse).

I'm not saying anything until you answer the question I asked before on one of the other threads, you may have missed it.

You said I've "opened your eyes to a few things", and I would like to know "exactly" what they were?

is that if he is Eighth and that is his performance and explanation, then having seen you move, you are well under ranked! I come from a much different line and follow different Ideas of Kenpo.... rambling sorry. It was a compliment... For his rank, he is sticky, mechanical, bad timing, should I go on? I did not comment because I did not want to get caught up in the after math of the comments.

That being said, let me just say I do and teach it differently.

I read into it correctly, then. Sorry. It's hard to tell sometimes (been a long day). I appreciate your compliment and I agree with the, "I do it and teach it differently" fact. I am there with ya.

Peace!

To Mr. Macdonald's defense (We don't know each other personally) he has been in the art for a long time, trained under Mr. Schulte, Mr. Tatum, and seminars with Mr. Parker since 1978, so he has been around a while and has done great things for European Kenpo. Since upper ranks in Kenpo are for "Service for the art" meaning what you do for it, I would say he deserves it.

For me, I am with you that you should also look the part. I don't believe I am under ranked. I believe many are over ranked.
