With the closing of Alpental, the Snoqualmie Pass season has officially ended for lift served riding. It was a fun time, and now is the countdown to next season with approximately 6 months to go til the snow starts falling again. Get your season passes early!!

you know what I'm gonna drop next year is the special grooming permit sno-park pass deal.

I paid $100 for it this season, used it a few times, but twice found the trails ungroomed for "maintenance issues." Really? I paid $100 for a "special grooming" parking pass and you didn't groom, while less than a quarter mile from my house I could load up Fir with my existing Summit pass and access miles of fresh corduroy? Dayum. My feeling is that this is poor service.

It sort of sounds like they are talking about a snow park permit.

To park at Hyak you are required to have a Discover Pass, a Sno-Park pass and a "special grooming permit." The cost is $117.

I'm all for fee-based recreation (although it's quite un-American) but paying $117 for a parking pass and showing up two different times to find the trail not groomed is weak sauce.

Parking where at Hyak? Or are you talking about the trail head parking, not the ski area?

I refer of course to parking at the Hyak trailhead Sno-Park.

Just as well you don't know what I'm talking about, it turns out that it's not a very good deal.

It is a better deal to park in lot 2 at Hyak and walk over there.
