Does anyone know if any of the land near the pass is public forest land eligible to cut a Xmas tree with a purchased permit? Is any of Hidden Vally eligible? Thanks.

The front side and back side of Hyak are private. The property boundries would look like a diamond with the points meeting at tht top of the Keechelus lift (this is why the Keecheuls lift was installed at the low point of the ridge, because it was private land). Don't know what the ski resort would say to xmas tree cutting, but you could give them a call.

It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission....If you do cut trees...could you do it on the left and right side of lower blowdown...
thanks it will make it a better run.

If you must do it, do it at hyak. No ones ever around so if you're not supposed to do it, there is no one to catch you doing it. How are you going to get it down, Toboggen?

There is no reason to be sneaky, the North Bend ranger station sells permits for $10 to cut one in national forest. I was just wondering if any of the land near the pass was national forest land.

get the permit...just hoping you need 500 christmas trees from Lower Blowdown...might make it a good run again.
