This year's december snowfall is going to be the worst in 20 years, and second worse since the legendary season of 1976/77. These high pressure systems are killing us.

Maybe we'll catch up a little on New Year's Eve...they're predicting up to a foot but the snow level's supposed to rise at some point. I kept looking for it but don't see where they say "except in the passes"

On my drive up from work it was raining almost all the way up the hill. Not a good sign.. It is currently 34 degrees so it looks like rain might be coming sooner then we think. I sure hope not, but it doesn't look good.

The snow that is falling (and it is coming down pretty good) is nice and nothing like last night. Temp is currently 30 degrees. SL is suppose to go up tonight and stay up through tomorrow then drop back down tomorrow night when snow will resume. (so the experts say) Don't believe the temp on the Summit Lodge, it is always reading incorrect.

We were up at Alpental this afternoon and it was steady snow (although a weird ice pellet snow) until about 4:30pm when it switched over to freezing rain. This was our first day at Alpental this year and the coverage was pretty limited (although the conditions were nice with the new snow). It must have been pretty brutal hard pack ice before this recent snow though.

Its 9:45pm here at Hyak and really just rain since 4 or so, and its 29 degrees. My car is already encased in ice and all the snow has a thick crust on it. Does not loook to promising for tommorow. Guess i should have gone out snowboarding today.
