Sweet potatoes too. She once used hers as a rice cooker, I should try that. My rice cooker is small, if I have the entire crowd over I have to make 2 batches.

I prefer not to bake potatoes in foil and was wondering if the foil is really necessary for the Crock Pot. What I like about this idea is that you can put them on in the morning on low and they take so long to cook they won't be overdone at dinner. To speed things up, I typically half-cook my potatoes in the microwave and finish them in the oven in about 15 minutes. I don't like potatoes that have been completely nuked.

I cooked a couple in a small 1 qt crockpot I have one time, and they cooked just fine. If you read the comments on her post, you'll find people talking about not using the foil.
