Hottest temp ever recorded here. Will get hotter the next few days. Power grid is holding out so far. 600 acre fire about 100 miles east. How are things where you are?

That's hot! It was 99 here today. It's almost 10pm and still 90.

It's been 111 or 113 here the past several days, although I think it was a bit cooler (?) today. It's currently 8:53 p.m. and is 102 now. Just found out that our city is banning fireworks due to dry conditions (I've never bought any myself).

Though a couple of degrees difference might not feel much different. We waited until 9:00 to walk the dogs and it was still 99.

PB, I know you must be sweltering. I hope it cools off at night. At least if it gets bad you can sit in a tub of cool water.

This is a killer summer literally. We are having a cold front in about a week. It will only be 98!

which is almost unheard of here. It was 106 in 1988 and before that it was sometime in the 1930's I believe. Today was 98, but we had a really bad thunderstorm with high winds and there was a tornado warning. It is in the 70's now, but supposed to be back up in the high 90's tomorrow. Glad the AC is working (for now - it will need to be replaced next year for sure) and glad we have a pool!

I keep the house closed up and the ceiling fans going. We usually head outside in the afternoon and play under our huge red maple. I love putting my feet in the kiddie pool.

at least this early in the summer. We're usually dry and windy, but not THIS hot. But you're right: a few degrees' difference doesn't really make a difference.

I guess our 97 was quite cool in comparison.

temps 96-99 and I spent all 3 days outside, lol. I drove to Maryland and mowed Friday...sure was humid along the bay! Saturday and Sunday we did our annual creek cleanup. We all took lots of breaks, but it sure was hot!
