We get it. You don't like DeLillo. Is he my favorite writer? No. But White Noise was an important book for me personally. It reminded me of the possibilities of literature. Immediately I thought Adunis and then maybe Murakami.
Then on reflection I thought maybe Pynchon, "new guard" (as per reasons in 2015) v "old guard" (still dismissive, nothing new recently).
I do not believe it has anything to do with sex or nationality/continent, exhausted territory, unlikely to cause any debate to be drawn out.
Last year we (arguably) had a new form of literature, and introducing another so soon, would cause some disagreement I would expect. So maybe Dylan is also in the mix.
